Episode 68 – In Conversation with Cynthia Harvey

This episode is an In Conversation with world renowned prima ballerina Cynthia Harvey.  From a small town in the north of California she knew she was going to be big.  Her talent was recognised early on and after her training she Joined American Ballet Theatre at the age of 16.  Her rise to principal dancer was fairly quick and she knew she was ready for stardom.  She has been partnered by Mikhail Baryshnikov, Anthony Dowell, Kevin McKenzie, and many other celebrated male dancers.

She danced at The Royal Ballet in London for nearly three years, and even though she was at the highest level she remained and still remains incredibly humble and modest.

She was the director of the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School in New York, and expertly guided the cohort through the global pandemic and back into the studio after a time working remotely.

She currently lives in Norwich, UK and works freelance as a guest repetiteur and runs a consultancy firm recruiting and filling arts positions within the field of ballet.
